Te Arawhiti has incorporated the New Zealand Government Open Access and Licensing (NZGOAL) approach to its online and printed publications.
Purpose
This copyright statement summarises how people and businesses outside of Te Arawhiti can use information Te Arawhiti publishes on its website or printed material.
Principle of availability
Te Arawhiti publishes information on the principle that we want people to use it. Generally speaking, we don’t want to apply limitations on how people use our information, except to acknowledge the source.
Background
Te Kawa Mataaho – Public Service Commission has encouraged the public sector to embrace Creative Commons licensing and have developed a policy to help departments apply the licensing scheme. This is called New Zealand Government Open Access and Licensing (NZGOAL).
NZGOAL’s purpose
NZGOAL’s purpose is two-fold:
- enable people to re-use government material with confidence that they are legally entitled to do so – for their own purposes, whether economic, environmental, creative or cultural; and
- encourage experts and others to contribute to improved policy development and more efficient financial performance by government by being able to access, manipulate and provide feedback on such material.
Use of NZGOAL at Te Arawhiti
Te Arawhiti uses the Creative Commons Attribution (BY) 4.0 international license(external link) as the default license to promote the greatest re-use of our copyright works.
