Building capability to meaningfully engage with Māori is an area of continuous development for the public sector. The Office for Māori Crown Relations – Te Arawhiti has developed the following workshops to assist agencies.

Engagement workshops are part of the ongoing work Te Arawhiti is doing to ‘actively support Crown agencies to engage effectively with Māori’. Te Arawhiti has a responsibility to ensure that public sector agencies engage meaningfully with Māori to increase the opportunities for and quality of Crown Māori engagement and promote good practice. Te Arawhiti has developed and published a framework for engagement which is taught through the engagement workshops. Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Aotearoa History Workshop |

As part of our Crown Capability system leadership role, Te Arawhiti is offering Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Aotearoa History training to our whanaunga across the public service. In te ao Māori, you’ll often hear the saying “'Ka mua, ka muri', Walking backwards into the future”.
