Decisions to engage with applications

The responsible Minister decides whether or not to formally engage with an application for Crown engagement.

Where the Minister declines to engage with an applicant group there is no longer a need for those applying for certain types of resource consent, permit or approvals in the common marine and coastal area to notify and seek the views of that group for that application. For more information about these requirements see information for developers.

However please note that one or more applications, from the same applicant group or others, may still cover the same or similar areas.
